Worship at FBCC

Worship is a core value at First Baptist Church. The ministries and missions of the church are naturally extensions of worship experiences. In worship we come before God because he is "worthy." We acknowledge our need to confess our sins, accept God's forgiveness and to praise Him.

Worship is about God; it is not about us. Worship is not intended to be entertaining or to produce ecstatic feelings among those who attend. Some of the most profound worship experiences may leave us uncomfortable because of our encounter with the Almighty and his revelation about ourselves.

The Word of God is at the center of worship. We proclaim the Living Word of God by careful examination of his written record.

Our worship leaders spend much time in preparing for worship. The choirs, instrumentalists, soloists, and proclaimers are compelled by urgency to be authentic in worship.

Worship services at FBCC blend together elements of tradition as well as more contemporary approaches. The great hymns of the faith are sung with choruses that reflect a more contemporary approach to music that is suitable for worship.
