“I came to know Christ when I was nine years old and was baptized at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Nichols, South Carolina and have been involved in church all of my life. When I was sixteen, God called me into the ministry. And, fortunately for me, he gave me a helpmate and soul mate not too long after. ”

“My calling in life is derived from Ephesians 4 in which Paul instructs the Church to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry.  God equips each one of us for His service, it is my goal in ministry to assist believers to find out where He is working and join Him.  Seeing the youth of today join our other generations to BE THE CHURCH OF TODAY is the standard I am reaching for.”

Rev. Nick Garner
, Next Generation Pastor

ngarner@fbccreedmoor.org

Nick Garner received his Bachelors of Science degree from UNC Wilmington in 2014, and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.  It was at UNC Wilmington that Nick received his call into ministry. He served as president of Baptist Campus Ministry from 2012-2014 which opened the door for him to serve as Youth Pastor at Ogden Baptist Church. This experience confirmed his call to ministry and led him to attend Southeastern. He was first called to FBC Creedmoor to volunteer with the Upward Sports program, where he realized the need for children to hear the Gospel. God called him to serve as the Children’s Pastor at the beginning of 2015.  In the spring of 2017, Nick became FBC Creedmoor's first Next Generation Pastor, ministering to children, youth and their families.  He has a passion for missions and has gone on several mission trips across the country and internationally. His goal is to teach children and families the truth of the Gospel and equip them to teach others, make disciples, and ultimately, lead people to Christ, in whom we have salvation.

Betsie Forsythe, Director of Music

As the daughter of foreign missionaries, I had the privilege of being a part of, and learning about, many different cultures.  It seems that for as long as I can remember, a passion for loving God, loving people, and doing all that we can to help others know the love of Christ has been a part of my heart and of my life.

I have had the wonderful opportunity of serving as music director at First Baptist Church, Creedmoor, for twelve years.  I love the work that surrounds worship and music ministry, and I enjoy working with everyone involved in facilitating worship experiences for God’s people here at First Baptist.

I feel that we have a great responsibility as Christians as we look across today’s world.  I pray that as we walk together in the days ahead, we will not grow weary or faint, but that we will become stronger in Christ, sure of our calling, and obedient to all that our Heavenly Father asks us to do.  There are two sayings that I think best describe my passion for sharing Christ with our world.  They are, “If not us, then who?,” and “If not now, then when?”

I pray that as you attend worship here at First Baptist, you will find God—in the hearing and singing of music, in the reading of Scripture, in the proclamation of God’s Word, and in your response to God’s beckoning and constant call on each of our lives to come closer, and to taste and see, indeed, that the Lord is good!
